To request your Discovery Platinum credit card you must:
- You need to be over 18 years old
- Your annual income should be between R350 000 to R850 000
- You must be a resident citizen of South Africa
- Have no bad credit history records
You must submit the following documentation:
- Official identification document
- An employment contract or paycheck that proves your income
- Bank statements for the last few months if you are an account holder at another bank

How to apply for a Discovery Platinum credit card?
This Discovery credit card is linked to a Discovery Platinum account.
Therefore, in order to apply for the card, you must create a bank account at Discovery and, in order to do so, you must meet almost all the requirements mentioned above, with the exception of income.
To open your account, access the Discovery app or website, fill out the account opening form with the requested personal information, and attach the documentation.
The bank will analyze your request and may or may not open an account in your name.
If you already have a Discovery credit card, you can request to upgrade to a Discover Platinum credit card if you meet all of your eligibility requirements.
The card can be used immediately after approval as a virtual credit card.
What are the financial characteristics of the Discover Platinum credit card?
For the use of the Discovery Platinum credit card, the following rules and fees apply:
- Monthly fee of R 145
- After collecting the annual R90, you only collect fees depending on the uses of the card such as cash withdrawals, contactless payments
- You receive up to 4.5% interest on your positive account balances
- 5.75% yield on your savings account
- You get a 4% discount on interest rates if you take out a loan with Discovery
